Her research focuses on auditory memory, how we perceive music, and the effects of musical training on listening skills. This study is vital for understanding sound processing in today's audio-rich environment. Before her scientific career, Rogers spent 20 years in the music industry, breaking through gender barriers as a record producer and engineer. She worked with notable artists like Prince from 1983 to 1988, contributing to many iconic tracks and collaborating with individuals across various genres. Now, as the director of the Berklee Music Perception and Cognition Laboratory, Rogers researches how people perceive music and sounds.
